for 2015-16?

The AEJMC’s Minorities and Communication (MAC) Division is seeking nominations, including self-nominations, for several officers’ positions for the 2015 -2016 year, including the following:

  • Student Research Chair
  • Mid-Winter Coordinator
  • PF&R Chair
  • Newsletter Editor
  • Faculty Liaison
  • A MAC Division officer needs to be a member of both AEJMC and the MAC Division. If you are interested in nominating someone or if you want to nominate yourself, please contact Mas Biswas at mkbiswas@loyola.edu

    Officer elections will be held at the MAC Business meeting at 6:45 p.m. on Friday, Aug.7, at the San Francisco conference.

    Below are the position responsibilities:

  • Student research chair works with faculty research chair to recruit reviewers for the AEJMC student paper competition and administers the student paper competition in coordination with paper submitters, reviewers, faculty research chair, and vice-head.

  • Midwinter coordinator is responsible for running research competition and organizing sessions for the MAC Division for the Midwinter conference. Duties include recruiting proposal reviewers, paper discussants and moderators for conference sessions and soliciting paper/proposal submissions.

  • The PF&R Chair is responsible for planning and overseeing the division’s Professional Freedom and Responsibility activities. The PF&R Chair is an adviser to the Division Head and Program Chair, and is responsible for ensuring the Division is in compliance with the goals set by the AEJMC Standing Committee on Professional Freedom & Responsibility.

  • Newsletter editor is responsible for producing two newsletters – winter and summer for the division. The Newsletter editor works in coordination with the division head. Major duties include soliciting submissions, selecting and creating content, editing content and producing the newsletters.

  • Faculty liaison plans, coordinates and implements outreach activities for the division.
