Martin Luther King Jr. Documents Available

January 16, 2009 (Baton Rouge) - A 10,000-piece collection of handwritten notes and unpublished sermons of Martin Luther King Jr. will be made publicly available by Morehouse College in Atlanta, from which King graduated in 1948. Designated for research, public access and exhibits, the collection has been called by some “the most valuable collection” of King documents in private hands. Additional information is available online. The site indicates that up-to-date information will be provided about the historic acquisition of the King Papers. In addition, the King Papers Project at the Martin Luther King Jr. Research and Education Institute, Stanford University, produces a comprehensive multi-volume collection of King’s most important correspondence, sermons, publications, speeches, unpublished manuscripts, and other material and makes its significant research efforts available online and in popular books and audios.
